Celebration of International yoga day at Kristu Jayanti College

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ is derived from Sanskrit. And it means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.

International yoga day was celebrated in Kristu Jayanti College on 21 June 2019, with much enthusiasm and Great Spirit. The resource person for the day was Sanyasini Devashree from Vihar School of Yoga.

The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide about the many benefits of practicing yoga.

It is a spiritual discipline, and it is based on an extremely subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. And at Kristu Jayanti College, the management truly focuses on the overall well-being of the students.

Yoga is regarded as one of the most effective methods of establishing a connection between the body and mind by Indian sages since time immemorial. It is a type of exercise that is performed through breathing and physical posture for the relaxation of body and mind.

Folding of both hands in the logo symbolizes Yoga, which reflects the union of individual consciousness with that of universal consciousness, a perfect harmony between mind and body, man and nature, the holistic approach to health and well-being.

In an age where we are constantly competing with someone or something, we generally fail to see the ultimate bigger picture. We fail to ask ourselves what are we striving for and what is the goal of our life. Yoga would definitely not provide you with the answer, but yes, it would indeed provide you with the means to the end or rather a road map through which you can find out the answer yourself.

It is the best fitness regime for your body, heart and mind; it is the best therapy to keep your mind and body calm. Nothing else would help you calm your mind and heart as Yoga does when you are suffering stress and anxiety. Yoga is the practice for a healthy body, mind, soul and heart.

Yoga Allows You to Rediscover a Sense of Wholeness on Your Life,

Where you do not feel like you are Constantly Trying to Fit Broken Pieces Together.
